Why talk about panel track blinds on a website about curtains?
A very good question and I'm glad you asked ;-)
These are not your regular panel blinds. These work in exactly the same way but are made with curtain fabrics.
These ones are made from three co-ordinating curtain fabrics just to add a bit of drama. I think they are really interesting ideas for window treatments as well as a really practical way of dressing wide windows.
Just incase you are not sure how they work. On this window there are six panels topped off with a matching fabric covered cornice.
Each panel is 24 inches (60cm) wide and when open each panel hangs in front of each other at the sides of the window.
Within reason you can make the panels as narrow or as wide as you want
When closed they cover the whole window with each panel overlapping the panel next to it.
These ones are operated using a cord control to the side. It's really cool watching the panels slide across the window by just pulling the cord to the side.
Another really great thing about these panel track blinds (curtains). Is that they can be made without having to sew a stitch. So almost anyone can have a go at making these easy curtain ideas.
Yep that's right they are the ultimate in No SEW window treatment ideas.
When it comes to curtains and drapes these don't need anywhere as much fabric to cover the same size window. With regular curtains you need to allow for the curtain panels to be gathered when hanging. The panels here are flat so use less fabric. You can get 2 panels out of a single width of fabric.
So the benefits of these sliding panel window treatments are...

"Dear Lee, Just wanted to say I found your site last week and it was an absolute godsend. Most helpful and informative - easy to follow instructions - and my very first bay window pelmet looks like the work of a true (and expensive) professional!
The pelmet and curtains both look much better in real life than on the photo of course. My wife thinks it all looks the work of a real pro rather than a first time amateur! Many many thanks for your site.
Kind regards Neal"
