1. Curtain hooks like these on the right here are what you will need to hang these pencil pleat curtains with. They are made of either plastic, nylon or metal. Simply insert the hooks in to every 4th pocket on the header tape. Leave 3 epmty pockets in between each hook. This allows your curtains to stack back off your window properly.

2. Hanging your pencil pleat curtains is easy by simply hooking each hook into the small eyelets under each curtain rod ring. Do this for each hook on your curtain.

3. Dress your pencil pleat curtains Next start at the bottom of your curtain panel. Pleat the curtain panel backwards and forwards concertina like using both hands. Make the depth of the pleats about a hand width. Then holding all the pleats together using one hand. Use your other hand to push the pleats upwards in the curtain panel. Do this for all your pleats. Now the pleats should all run up the curtain from the bottom to the top. Repeat this for all the pleats in your curtains.

This will help you curtain to hang neatly in to regular pleats. If the pleats are not staying where you have put them. Then tie some bands around the curtain to hold the pleats in place. Leave these bands on for a few days, then remove. This should help the curtains to keep its pleats.

Now hold all the pleats together and run your hands down each side of the pleated curtain pressing in from top to bottom. Finally if your curtain does not hang as well as you would like. Then tie some bands around the curtain to hold it in to its pleats for a few days. This should really help your curatians to hang well.

4. Steaming your curtains will help to reduce any creases caused during making or during hanging. Ready made curtains will have creases from being folded in packaging. So I use a steamer like this one here to remove these creases. It is a safer way to remove creases than pressing with a hot iron. The beauty of these is that you can use them on most fabrics including clothes.
